Vintage Floral

I'd like to think of my style as rock and roll meets happy hippy.  A little edgy, a little baggy anything goes.  Sometimes I surprise myself and go 100% in the opposite direction.  Today's outfit isn't a typical Lindsey get up, with a lace pale pink top, which has been all the rage this season and a vintage looking floral skirt.  These aren't the usual colors I wear, but they are quite beautiful.  I feel very girly and feminine today!

Style Theft: Part II

It's easy to be inspired by celebrities... they are rich, they have stylists, they are absolutely gorgeous! Us “regular” people don’t have it that easy, womp womp. We don’t have brands outfitting us and sending us free clothes. But alas, we too can look absolutely fabulous for less.

I was inspired by many dresses I saw at a wedding last weekend. Everybody looked radiant and so fashion forward... and didn’t spend a year’s worth of rent to do so. Check out these dresses similar to the celebs… I think us “regular” gals look better :)

Blake Lively's Marchesa dress doesn't hold a candle to Jenn's blue from Bloomingdales!

Kristen Davis' wore this one of a kind by Zac Posen for the first Sex & the City movie. The black ruffles and flowers are romantic Goth, but Cristina's dress from Forever 21 hits the nail on the head with the short length and one shoulder.

Ok, well I like Sienna's Matthew Williamson dress better... but this Bebe dress was a fantastic alternative and fit my body type.  I love her chunky black heels and belt, but I tried to compensate with an exaggerated bronze necklace and ring.

Romper Relief

As the heat wave in NY is sucking the life out of me, I'm finding comfort in rompers. Today I wore an adorable romper borrowed from Roe purchased from Forever21. The combo of navy and white dots with red piping play nicely with this summer’s trend of trends, nautical. Paired with red Moschino flats I like to refer to as my "Dorothy" shoes. Love.

Gym Girls New Shoes

I realized I needed a new pair of sneakers when my heels kept slipping out of the back of my favorite Nike Shocks. Although I hate to see them go, I calculated that I had them for about three years. Going to the gym an average of 3 days per week for 3 years equals about 468 times worn-- definitely time for a new pair! I learned from therunnersguide.com runners will require a new pair of running shoes every 300-500 miles. So here they are, my Nike Air Max Trainer One Training Shoe that Self Magazine recommended as the best sneaker for the cardio loving gym goer. I love the Velcro band on the top to keep my tootsies secure and the bright yellow accents.

Style Theft

This Saturday was Danielle & Christian's Wedding at the Chatea Briand in Carle Place.  It was beautiful and Danielle looked like a total princess.

My dress was from Bebe and inspired by Sienna Miller in Matthew Williamson.  I really adore the olive green color and cross ruching.  Sienna rocked an awesome chunky belt, but since I couldn't I wore an edgy bronze necklace.  Check it out!

LOFT Blouse & Necklace Combo Two Ways

I love this blouse and necklace combo I bought at the LOFT during their 40% off sale.  Here they are styled two different ways.

"Office Appropriate" with Zara pants, F21 belt and Steve Madden nude pumps.

"Flirty & Feminine" with lace H&M shorts and Steve Madden oxford wedges.

Fab Find

I hate to call myself cheap, but I am.  I am very careful about what I buy, when I buy, etc.  And that's why I am so freaking excited about these new shoes.  About 4 months ago I spotted high high oxford type wedges at Zara and fell in love.  The only problem was they were $250, way over budget for shoes I really didn't need.  Shortly after I spotted the same Zara wedges on Cupcakes and Cashmere's blog, which I love.  The girls got great style.  So the shoes were back in my mind.  I took Roe to Zara to see if she thought they were worth it-- no.  To cut to the chase, I saw a very very similar pair at Steve Madden and snagged them as quick as I took a breath.  I am now in love.
